Emotional
development is a process in which children create their identity,
self-esteem, security, self-confidence and the world around them
through relationships with their parents and the people around them.
Through this process the child can differentiate emotions, identify,
handle, express and control them. It is a process that requires that
the child experiences conscious and unconscious actions
Why
is it so important?
Because...
- They learn to empathize with themselves and other people
- They learn to associate / relate the gestures and actions with their own emotions
- They are able to recognize and express their own feelings
- The adults around them learn not o judge their feelings and the way to express them. This allows them to be themselves and not to keep their feelings in.
- They
learn to meet themselves a can see if something like or not, way
they like and don't like...
I think that it's very important that a child grows in an atmosphere in which he is understood because in this way he'd devolupe his emotions in a better way.
